For all of you aspiring musicians & audiophiles, this Geek Wishlist is dedicated to you! There have been a ton of great apps and accessories designed for listening and creating music on iOS devices recently, from Garage Band to Pocket Guitar. You can even stream popular music apps like Pandora & iheart Radio through a new feature in 2012 model Fords called Sync! With all these new music apps & technology I thought I’d take a minute to call out a few of my favorites! Take a peek and let me know about your favs in the comments…

Shazam Player

For those of you that haven’t used Shazam’s other apps, they are well known for their music recognition software. With the original Shazam App, your iPhone can identify songs playing in a room through the built-in mic and instantly reveals the title and artist of the song. The new Shazam Player goes one step further! Now you can play music, create playlists, and stream lyrics for your favorite songs as they play through the app. Plus, find out more about each song with links to reviews, tour dates, and YouTube videos. The new App was released last week and is available for free on the iPhone.

Alesis DM Dock

For the aspiring drummer, you can turn your iPad into a MIDI drum module with the Alesis DM Dock! Tap out beats on the touch screen or unlock your iPad’s full potential by hooking the dock up to multiple trigger pads & a hi-hat control pedal (sold separately). The DM Dock sports 13 ¼-inch inputs so if you already have an e-drum you can plug it in and have more flexibility with your set-up. Another plus is the docks 1/4-inch stereo AND USB outputs! The DM Dock will be available the second quarter of this year for $249.

iHome Boombox iP4

What is more eye-catching than this large, neon pink jukebox by iHome? Make a statement with these rockin boomboxs that says you aren’t ready to leave 1980’s fashion behind. If you think your really ready, blast “In Your Eyes” while holding the iP4 over your head in a show of affection for your lady, à la “Say Anything” or put on your dopest threads and rock it on your shoulder like Radio Raheem in Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing!” The iP4 comes in two stylish colors, hot pink and grey, and retails for $199.99.
