According to Wikipedia, the first recorded moustache (or mustache to us yanks!) in history is from an Iranian portrait of a horseman wearing a moustache in 300 BCE.
This man was truly a connoisseur of the moustache. In fact, he was so far ahead of his time, he was wearing the “The Connoisseur” moustache before it even had a name!
